About
Saër Karam studied communication, advertising, and journalism in Paris.
He also attended filmmaking seminars in New York.
Back to the roots, he undertook in 1996 a major restructuring of “La Revue du Liban”. He led this iconic institution (the first French language newsmagazine in the Middle East, established in 1928 in Paris) into the digital era. From 2002 to 2011 he was appointed editorial director of the prestigious publication.
He founded & designed Style in 2002, a trendy lifestyle magazine; where he nurtured his love of words and passion for images.
Besides being a journalist, Saër Karam is a design-oriented photographer with a strong sense of storytelling. His portfolio includes war-field coverage, fashion shootings for books & magazines, in addition to high-end advertising photo sessions.
He produced several personal exhibitions, including: Planet Japan, Random Wanderings, and Paris-Beirut / Beirut-Paris.
In 2013, he founded Resolutions.
His work received numerous international prizes, such as the Tokyo International Foto Award 2018 for Cedars International Festival feature film or the Prix de la Photographie de Paris 2019 award for his coverage of the Gilets Jaunes movement since its inception.
2019 : He joins the Gamma-Rapho Agency as a photojournalist.
In 2021, his short-film Nocturnal Seclusion relating Paris during the curfew, is a winner at the Creative Communication Award.
September 2022, his latest photo exhibition “Human Nature” was equally acclaimed by visitors & critics.
That same year marks the birth of trait— a holistic creation company.
2023 celebrates 10 years of Resolutions.
Based in Lebanon, Saër Karam lives between Paris & Beirut.
